AEP has a track record of participating into European funded projects, which represent an excellent opportunity to explore new applications, work with bio-based materials on their very early stages of development and expand the network of qualified contact in both the industrial and scientific community.

Over the past few years AEP has had the opportunity to work on very diverse bio-based materials, like different grades of lignin, post hydrolysis solid, fast pyrolysis oil, derivatives from hemicellulose (furfural, 5-HMF) and sugar (isosorbide, succinic acid), as well as fatty acid oils, combining newly developed building blocks with commercial bio-based products, in order to maximize performance and bio-based content.

Depending upon the need of the specific project, AEP can be either the developer of new bio-based polymers, or the end-user, testing the ingredients from other partners in formulations that are representative or real industrial applications.

In addition, AEP can bring project management expertise, supporting the coordinator as WP Leader.
