R&D for the Polymer Industry
Connecting Sustainability and Innovation
Our Expertise
Leveraging its expertise in organic chemistry and polymer science, AEP specializes in the valorisation of bio-based sources, replacing fossil resources with bio-based precursors such as Cashew Nutshell Liquid (CNSL), plant derived oils and lignin, addressing the development of new polymers or formulations, dealing with the intrinsic variability of bio-based sources to ensure reproducible properties of the new polymers within a narrow specifications’ range.
Newly developed polymers or formulations are benchmarked against state-of-the-art commercial products, to ensure performance and economic sustainability.
Services
AEP supports innovative companies in their transition to more sustainable and circular products and technologies, developing new bio-based building blocks and formulations for the polymers industry. AEP offers specialist expertise and a fresh outside perspective, bringing in new ideas to your project. Outsourcing R&D activities is the right way forward to achieve results in a fast and efficient way, without diverting from your business.
Active involvement of the client during all phases of the project ensures a timely exchange of key information and accelerates delivery of results.
Cutting Edge Development
AEP believes in sustainability as a bridge that connects technical performance and limitation of climate change. Responsible and efficient use of natural resources and transformation processes are the basis of all AEP’s developments, which span from new building blocks for the polyurethane industry to vitrimeric formulation for fibre-reinforced composites.
In addition to consultancy work with industries, AEP participates in collaborative research and development projects to pioneer the use of novel sustainable raw materials and contribute to their technological advancement.
Who We Are
AEP is an innovation-based R&D company specializing in the development of bio-based building blocks and polymers for industrial applications, ranging from polyurethane foams and CASE (coating, adhesives, sealant and elastomers) to fibre-reinforced composites and thermoplastics.
Since 2013, AEP has worked with companies across Europe and beyond, from greentech materials startups to large industrial groups, through dedicated consulting, long-term research agreements and collaborative R&D funded projects under Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes.
