Either in the form of consulting project or master service agreement, AEP has been supporting clients in and beyond Europe in their new developments or in troubleshooting product or process issues. Typical research activities include:

  • Design and synthesis of new molecules (like polyols, XXX, YYY, etc.)
  • Optimization and first upscaling of new synthetic protocols (kilogram scale of product)
  • Optimization of industrial recipes to reach higher efficiency in the production of polymers
  • Improvement of thermoplastic compounds
  • Study of new catalysts for the optimization of polymerization process
  • Study and development of tailor-made formulations
  • Testing of different grades of lignin or other side streams in polyurethane and epoxy formulations, to assess their potential of industrial usability.

Downscaling is key when dealing with industrial processes: operating at TRL of 4-5 gives AEP the agility to work faster and lower costs and risks associated with the different options to be tested.
